Selvam Sweets And Bakery

Our bakery is at 28Csi Cottage on Amc Road, right near the bus stand. It’s a busy spot because of all the people coming and going from the buses all day long. We start very early in the morning, long before the sun is up, to get the ovens going and the dough ready. The smell of baking bread and sugar usually fills the whole street by 6 AM. We have glass cases filled with different things we’ve made, and we’re constantly refilling them as people stop by for a quick snack or something to take home. It gets really crowded in the evenings when everyone is finishing work and heading to the bus stand. We don't have much room behind the counter, so we’re always bumping into each other, but we’ve learned how to move out of the way. Some days we run out of certain sweets early, and we have to explain that to the customers. We also make a lot of tea and coffee, so the kettle is almost always whistling. The floors get sticky from the sugar, so we’re constantly mopping throughout the day. It’s a tiring job standing on your feet for so many hours, but it’s what we know how to do. We’ve been at this location for a while and know many of the regulars who stop in every single day. It’s just a local bakery doing its thing.
