Saantham'S Evoke Acadamy

Being up here in Kodaikanal at Saantham'S Evoke Acadamy means dealing with the cold and the mist. We are located at Pleasant View, and the name actually fits because the air is quite fresh. In the mornings, everything is usually damp from the fog. We all wear sweaters and heavy coats to keep warm while we wait for the day to start. The building isn't very large, which makes it feel a bit more like a home than a big institution. We have wooden floors in some parts and they creak when you walk on them. The windows stay shut most of the time to keep the wind out. It’s much quieter here than schools down in the plains. You can hear the birds and the wind in the trees instead of car horns. The students come in looking a bit sleepy from the cold, but they wake up once the first bell rings. We keep a lot of our supplies in small rooms because space is tight. There’s a certain way the light hits the classrooms in the afternoon that makes everything look very peaceful. We don’t have much in the way of high-tech gadgets, but we have plenty of books and notebooks. Life moves a bit slower at this altitude, and we just focus on getting the daily lessons finished before the clouds roll in again.
