R P J Engineering Construction

Our shop is up here in Kodaikanal, at 16/117 near JC Residency. If you know the area, you know the roads can be a bit winding. R P J Engineering Construction is basically where we keep all our tools and blueprints. Most of the time, we aren't even in the office because we're out at a site somewhere, getting our hands dirty. Building things in the hills is different than the plains; you have to deal with the weather and the terrain. We started doing this a while back and just kept going. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know. The office is a bit small and usually has dust from the latest project, but it works for us. We handle the local construction needs around here. Sometimes the fog rolls in and we have to stop work for a bit. It’s just part of life in Kodaikanal. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us who have been working together for years. We know which materials work best for the damp climate up here. When we’re not on-site, you can find us at the desk checking orders or fixing equipment. It’s a straightforward business. No big speeches or anything like that, just building and fixing things as they come. We’ve seen a lot of houses go up in this neighborhood since we started. It's a quiet existence most of the year, until the tourist season kicks in.
