Keecharam Coffee Private Limited is up here in the hills of Kodaikanal. Our place is at 3/2/22/1 in Orralpatti, Pannikadu. It is a quiet spot, and the air is usually pretty cold and misty most mornings. We spend our days dealing with coffee beans that grow around the slopes here. It is not some big industrial setup with robots. It is mostly just us and a few workers from the village nearby. We do a lot of walking up and down the hills to check on things. Sometimes the weather gets really bad and the rain makes everything muddy, which makes it hard to move the sacks around. We have some basic machines to help with the processing, but a lot of it is still manual. My family has lived in these hills for a long time, so we know the land well. We started the company to handle the coffee properly. It gets a bit lonely out here sometimes, but we prefer the peace over the noise of the city. We have to watch out for the monkeys because they like to steal things if we leave the doors open. We just try to get the drying done and the beans bagged up. It is a lot of work and our hands are always dirty by the end of the day. We don't have a fancy office, just a small room with a desk and some old chairs. It’s enough for what we do.
