Ebi Foods

You can find Ebi Foods over at 39C3, Muthamil Nagar in Chinnalapatti. It’s a residential sort of area, so it’s a bit quieter than being right in the middle of a market. Our shop is part of the local community here. We focus on food products and it’s mostly a family-run kind of operation. I’m usually behind the counter or back in the storage room checking the dates on everything. We don’t have a massive warehouse, so we have to be very careful about how much we order at one time. If we get too much, there’s no place to put it. It’s a lot of manual counting and checking lists. The building itself is nothing special, just a regular concrete structure that keeps the heat out. We keep a small notebook where we write down what the neighbors are asking for so we can try to get it in for them next time. It’s a slow and steady kind of life here. We aren’t looking to become some huge corporation. We just want to keep the shop running and make sure the shelves have what people need for their kitchens. Sometimes the kids from the nearby houses come in for small things, and it’s nice to see familiar faces every day. It’s a lot of sweeping and dusting to keep the place looking decent, but we don't mind the work at all.
