You’ll find us at 406, Karur Road in Vedasandur. The mill is a big place, and it’s always got a certain rhythm to it. The sound of the looms is like a heartbeat that you stop noticing after an hour. Centwin Textile Mills Ltd. has been part of Vedasandur for a long time. It’s a textile town, so we fit right in. The air inside the mill is thick with the smell of cotton and machinery oil. We have rows and rows of machines, and there's always someone walking the aisles to make sure everything is spinning correctly. It’s not a quiet job. We wear earplugs sometimes, but mostly you just get used to the noise. The floors are concrete and hard on the feet. We’ve got a lot of people working here, some who have been with us since the beginning. Karur Road is always busy with trucks bringing in raw material or taking away finished cloth. We don't have a fancy lobby or a bunch of awards on the wall. The work is the award, I guess. We focus on the thread counts and the weave. Sometimes a machine breaks down and everyone has to scramble to get it fixed. It’s just the way it goes. We aren't trying to be anything other than a hardworking mill in Vedasandur. It gets hot in the summer, but the ceiling fans help a little. We just keep the yarn moving and the cloth stacking up day after day.
