Soumita Overseas Private Limited

Our place is located in the Village-Bazar area of Hilli, which is way out in South Dinajpur. It is a rural spot, so things move at a different pace than they do in the big cities. We are right there near the post office and the police station. Being an overseas company in a place like Hilli means we see a lot of trucks and goods moving through. The roads can get pretty dusty in the dry season and quite muddy when the monsoons hit West Bengal. We spend our days in the office handling the various things that come with trade. The office itself is simple, with some wooden furniture and a lot of registers. We do not have air conditioning that works all the time, so we rely on the ceiling fans to stay cool. People from the village often stop by just to say hello or ask about what is moving through the market. We have been part of the Dakshin Dinajpur community for a while. It is a quiet life for the most part, except when the bazaar gets really busy on market days. We focus on the tasks at hand, making sure the papers are signed and the loads are ready to go. It is practical work that suits the environment we are in. We are just local people doing our bit in this corner of the state.
