Suprabhatam Tea Company

Our office is in Goenka Bhawan, over in Jyoti Nagar in the Dibrugarh district. It’s a sturdy old building that has seen a lot of people come and go over the years. We’ve settled in here quite well. Dibrugarh is the heart of tea country, so it made sense for us to set up shop right here. Every morning starts with a fresh pot of tea, obviously. We aren't a huge team at Suprabhatam Tea Company, just a handful of us who know the business well. We spend a lot of time on the phone or writing letters to suppliers. The rooms have high ceilings and those big windows that let in the light. It gets humid here, so we try to keep the air moving as best as we can. We don't have fancy marketing people or anything. We just know what good tea should look like and smell like. Sometimes the local kids play cricket in the street outside, and we have to remind them to be careful of the windows. It’s a friendly neighborhood. Most of us live nearby, so the commute is just a short walk or a quick cycle. We like the pace of life here. It’s steady and predictable, which is good for the tea business. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. There is always a stack of paperwork on the desk and a half-empty cup of tea nearby. That's just how we operate.
