Nirmalbari Tea Company

Nirmalbari Tea Company is located in the Ashok Nagar Colony area on Digboi Road. We are quite close to Mamorani, which is a landmark most people in this part of the country recognize when they are traveling. Working with tea is what we do here every day. The air always smells a bit like damp leaves and earth, which we have gotten used to over the years. Our building is right along the main road, so we see a lot of traffic passing by on its way to the bigger towns. We have a small group of workers who handle the sorting and packing of the tea. It is physical work, and your back usually hurts by the end of the shift. We don't have any corporate offices or anything like that. It is just a practical space where the tea gets processed and put into bags. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to wait around for it to come back on before we can finish the day's work. We know the neighbors in Ashok Nagar Colony well, and things are generally peaceful around here. The tea industry is tough, and there is always something that needs fixing or cleaning in the shop. We don't spend money on advertising or fancy signs. Most people know we are here just by seeing the trucks parked out front. We just focus on the tea and getting through the daily tasks. It’s a steady life.
