Koriapani Tea Producer Company Limited

This tea company is based out of Borgolai in Ward No. 1. If you know where the Rajib Gandhi Stadium is, we are right around there at P.P 1. It’s an interesting spot because you can hear the noise from the stadium sometimes when there’s a match or practice going on. We are a producer company, which means we spend a lot of our time dealing with the actual tea leaves and the people who grow them. It’s a lot of manual work and checking on the piles of leaf that come in. The building isn't anything special to look at. It’s just where we handle the business side of things. Most of us here have grown up around tea gardens so we know how it goes. The work day starts early because that’s when the tea is fresh. We have a few desks and a lot of floor space for the bags. Sometimes the trucks have a hard time getting into the ward because the roads are narrow. We just make it work though. It’s not a shiny corporate office with air conditioning in every room. It’s more of a place where people get their hands dirty. We deal with the local growers and try to get the tea sorted out. It’s a steady kind of life here in Borgolai. We just keep our heads down and do the work every day without making a big deal of it.
