We spend most of our time at the Khemani Building on Mancotta Road. It’s a busy spot in Dibrugarh. Being part of Jutlibari Tea And Plantations Llp means we deal with tea bushes every day. It's just how life is here. Most mornings start early because the weather in Assam can be unpredictable. We have our office right there in town, but the real work happens out where the plants are growing. It’s a lot of manual labor and watching the seasons change. We don't have fancy brochures. We just focus on the harvest and making sure the leaves get where they need to go. If you walk down Mancotta Road, you’ll see people moving back and forth from the estates. We’ve been at it for a while now. The building is just a place to keep the papers straight. Most of us grew up around here, so we know the soil and how the rain hits the hills. It isn't always easy work, especially when the monsoon gets heavy and the roads get muddy. We just keep the gates open and the tea moving. There are always trucks coming in and out. Sometimes the machinery breaks or the power goes out, but we just fix it and keep going. It’s a plain business, really. We grow things, we pack them, and we send them out. That is what fills our days from Monday to Saturday.
