De Looks Clinic & Opticals

De Looks Clinic & Opticals is situated in North Amolapatty, right near the railway gate in Dibrugarh. You can hear the trains passing by several times a day. It’s a sound we have grown very used to. Our shop is a mix of a clinic and a place to get your eyes checked for new glasses. We have rows of frames on the walls and a small room in the back for the doctor. It isn't a huge place, but we have enough room for a few people to wait. We spend our days helping people pick out frames that fit their faces and their budgets. Sometimes the children come in and get a bit restless, so we keep some old magazines around for them. It gets quite humid here in Dibrugarh, so we try to keep the shop as cool as possible for the customers. We aren't a big chain store, just a local spot where people come because they know us. The floors are polished every morning, and we try to keep the glass cases clean, though fingerprints always seem to appear. When the railway gate closes, things get a bit quiet on the road for a few minutes, and then it gets busy again once the train is gone. We like the rhythm of the day here. It’s a steady business and we enjoy seeing familiar faces from the neighborhood.
