Assam Teehaus

Right on Station Road in Duliajan, that is where you can find us. Assam Teehaus is not one of those fancy shops with waiters in starched uniforms. It is more of a local place where tea is just a part of everyday life. Being here in Assam, we take our tea leaves seriously, but we do not act like we are experts. We just know what tastes good to us and our neighbors. The shop is often busy because we are so close to the station. You get all sorts of different people coming through the door. Some are in a huge hurry to catch a train, while others want to sit and talk for an hour. We try our best to accommodate everyone who walks in. It gets a bit chaotic during the peak morning and evening hours. Sometimes we even run out of certain types of tea, but people around here are patient and do not seem to mind too much. We get our tea from estates around this area, so it is as local as you can get. We do not do much marketing because the smell of the brewing tea usually brings people in anyway. It is a family-style environment where we know a lot of our customers by name. It is not about being the biggest shop, it is just about serving a decent cup of tea in a place where people feel comfortable sitting down.
