Aronai Rural Development Association

Aronai Rural Development Association is based out of a house in the village of Kaljar, which many people also call Katabari. Our house number is 285. We are located near the Barama post office in the Baksa district. It is a very rural area, which makes sense for what we do. The road to get here is not always the smoothest, especially when it rains, but it is home for us. We operate right out of this building. It is not a big office complex; it is just a regular house where we have set aside some rooms for the association. We spend a lot of time talking to the folks in the village. Since we are right here in Kaljar, people can just walk up to the door if they need something. There is not a lot of formality around here. We have a desk and some old filing cabinets, and that is about it. The Baksa district is a quiet place, and being in Katabari allows us to see the daily lives of the people we work with. Aronai Rural Development Association is not some far-off group; we are part of the village. We deal with the same issues everyone else here does, like the power going out or the water being slow. It is a simple life and a simple way to run an organization. We keep our records in the back room and meet in the front room where the light is better. It works.
