Suman Kirana Store

Suman Kirana Store is a small shop located near the river in Mandi Gobindgarh. We are in the Fatehgarh Sahib area, not too far from the local post office. The store is packed with all sorts of things people need for their daily lives, from bags of lentils and spices to soap and tea leaves. Because we are near the river, the air can get a bit damp, but it’s a nice spot to be. People from the neighborhood stop in all day long, some just for a single matchbox or a packet of biscuits. We know most of our customers by name since they live just a few streets away or work in the nearby offices. The shop isn't very large, so we have to stack things high on the shelves to make everything fit. It can get a bit crowded when a few people come in at the same time, but nobody seems to mind the wait. We open up early to catch the people heading to work and stay open until the sun goes down. There is always a bit of chatter going on at the counter about the local news or the weather. It is just a simple, local grocery store that serves the needs of the people living around here. We don't have any fancy displays, just the essentials piled up where people can see them. Running the store keeps us busy, and it is a good way to stay connected to the community in Mandi Gobindgarh.
