Mahawar Sons is located right in the middle of Loha Bazar. As you can probably guess from the name of the market, it’s all about iron and steel around here. The area is always loud with the sound of metal hitting metal and trucks trying to navigate the narrow, crowded lanes. We have been part of this market for a long time. Our shop is filled with various iron goods and raw materials. It’s a dusty place, and your clothes will probably get a bit of rust on them if you brush against the stock. That’s just the nature of the business we are in. We deal with all sorts of traders and contractors. Some are looking for just a few rods for a small project, while others need a whole truckload for a big site. We don’t have a fancy computer system or anything like that. We write things down in our registers, keep track of our regulars, and make sure the scales are accurate. The sun gets pretty hot in Loha Bazar, and there isn't much shade outside, so we drink a lot of water and keep moving throughout the day. It’s a tough environment but it’s what we have known for years. My family has been doing this for a long time, so the market feels like home to us. We don’t try to be something we’re not.
