We have been running this shop on Chinoda Road for quite a long time now. It is right in the Taloda area, and if you live around here, you probably pass us every day. We aren't a big fancy supermarket with sliding doors and bright lights. It’s just a regular kirana store where we keep all the things you need for your kitchen. We’ve got sacks of rice sitting on the floor and shelves stacked with spices, oils, and soaps. Some days it gets really busy, especially when people are coming home from work and realize they forgot to buy milk or sugar. The counter is a bit worn out from years of people leaning on it, and the floor is always a bit dusty from the street outside. We spend our mornings checking what is running low and making lists for the suppliers. Sometimes the delivery truck comes late, and we have to wait around, but that’s just part of the job. We know most of our customers by name because they have been coming here since they were kids. It is a lot of hard work, especially lifting the heavy bags of flour, but it keeps us connected to the neighborhood. We don't have any big signs or advertisements. We just open the shutters early and stay until late in the evening when the street gets quiet. It’s a simple life running a small shop like this.
