Mahacot Weavers Association

Mahacot Weavers Association is out in Dahivad, which is part of the Shirpur Taluka in Dhule district. You can find us at Gat number 205/1/L/1A. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here, but this is where the weavers are. We aren't a big corporation; we are more of a group of people working together. The building is a large shed-like structure that fits our needs. It’s practical and doesn't have any unnecessary frills. Inside, you'll hear the sound of work being done and see people focused on their tasks. We manage the association’s affairs from a small corner that serves as our office. There are plenty of records and files about the different weavers we work with. The weather in Dhule can get really hot, so we try to get most of the heavy work done in the cooler morning hours. We don't have a marketing department or anything like that. We just communicate directly with the people who need what we make. It’s a very direct way of doing business. Sometimes the road to the facility gets a bit muddy when it rains, but we manage. We take pride in just being a local association that helps the community here. It’s not about making a huge profit; it’s about keeping the work going for everyone involved. We just take it one day at a time and see what needs to be done next.
