Leela Marble

Leela Marble is situated on Parolo Road, near the Domestic Used Stetson area. We’ve been set up here for a good while, and the place is mostly just a big space for all the stone we keep. It’s not the cleanest business, as marble dust seems to get onto everything no matter how much we sweep the floors. We spend most of our time out there moving slabs around so people can see the patterns clearly in the light. It’s heavy work and we’re usually pretty tired by the end of the day. The road outside stays fairly busy, so we see a lot of cars and trucks passing by our gate from morning to night. Most of our customers are local folks or builders who are working on projects nearby. We don't really do much in the way of selling ourselves; we just show what we have in the yard. If someone likes a piece of marble, we figure out the details and get it ready. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living. The office is just a small room where we keep the books and take a break now and then. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult, like when it gets too hot or when the rain turns the yard into a bit of a mess. But we just keep at it anyway. We’re just a regular shop on Parolo Road, doing what we’ve always done. It’s honest work.
