Kharola Iron Engineering Works

You can find Kharola Iron Engineering Works right near the bus stand in Boradi. Being near the bus stand means there is always something going on outside our doors. It’s a dusty place because of all the iron we work with. There is a lot of noise too. We have machines for cutting and welding and bending metal. If you walk past, you’ll probably hear the sound of a grinder or someone hitting something with a heavy hammer. We don’t have a fancy showroom. Everything happens right there on the shop floor. We do a lot of small jobs for people in the village and some bigger stuff for folks coming from further away. Sometimes we get a bit behind on orders when the power goes out or a machine breaks down, but we just work later into the night to catch up. It’s honest work. Our clothes usually have a few holes in them from the sparks, and our hands are never really clean. That is just part of the job when you deal with iron all day. We have been in Boradi for a long time now. People know us by name, and they just drop off whatever needs fixing. We don’t really do any advertising or anything like that. Word of mouth is enough for us to keep going, and we are usually at the shop from morning until it gets dark.
