Gopal Glass House

Gopal Glass House is sitting in Shop No 9 and 10 of the Jawahar Complex. We’re on Lane No 2, which is quite close to the Jain Sthanak Bhawan in Lalbaug. It’s a lively neighborhood with people always walking past the windows. Dealing with glass is a delicate business, as you can imagine. We have all sorts of sheets stacked against the walls. You have to be careful how you move around in here. We spend a lot of time cutting glass to size for windows or table tops. There’s always that sound of the glass cutter scoring the surface and the snap when it breaks just right. We get a lot of local families coming in because they broke a window at home or want a mirror for their bathroom. We also talk to contractors who need bigger orders. The shop gets a bit cramped because glass takes up a lot of room, and we try to keep a good variety in stock. It can be a bit stressful when we have to deliver a large mirror through narrow stairs, but we’ve gotten good at it over the years. We don't have a fancy website or anything. Most people just find us by walking through the complex or hearing about us from their neighbors. It’s a local shop for local needs, and that’s how we like it. We have been here for years and hope to stay longer. It's just a regular shop.
