Tukura Foundation

We are located in Chiring Gaon, right in the Chiring Chapori area. The foundation operates out of a space shared with Dharitri Das. It’s a local spot, very much part of the neighborhood here. We started Tukura Foundation because we wanted to focus on the things that usually get overlooked in our community. We aren't a big organization with a lot of hierarchy. It's mostly just a few people sitting around a table deciding what needs to be done next. Dibrugarh is a nice place to live, and we like being based here in 786003. Most of our work is very hands-on. If there's a problem in the village or the nearby streets, we try to see how we can help. We don't have fancy brochures or a marketing team. Most people just know us by name and word of mouth. Some days we are busy with local events, and other days it’s just quiet paperwork. We like the balance. Being in a residential area like Chiring Chapori keeps us connected to real life. You won't find us in a glass building or some fancy office park. We are just in a regular house doing regular work. It’s honest and it keeps us busy. If you’re around, you can just ask for Dharitri’s place and you’ll find where we work. We don't have set hours, someone is usually around if the gate is open. It's just a small local effort.
