Monisha Brick Industry

We’ve been set up here in Gauripur for quite some time now, just down the road from the State Bank. If you’re coming through Rupsi, you’ve probably seen the smoke or the big stacks of red bricks we keep near the entrance. Monisha Brick Industry isn’t anything big or flashy. It’s basically just a bunch of us working the soil and getting the molds ready every morning. We start pretty early before the sun gets too hot. The local guys come in and we get to work. Sometimes the machinery acts up or the soil isn't quite right after a heavy rain, but we manage. People from the village know where to find us if they're building a shed or fixing up a house. It’s dusty work, and our clothes usually show it by the end of the shift. We don’t have a big front office or anything like that. If someone needs bricks, they just come by and talk to whoever is near the kiln. We keep track of everything in a simple ledger book. It’s been this way for years. The location is handy because of the bank being so close, so it’s easy for folks to find us without needing a map. We just keep our heads down and keep the fires going. It’s a simple way to make a living, and we’re glad to be part of the community here in Gauripur. Just a local spot doing what we know best.
