Goyal Stone Art

Our yard is out on Bayana Road, specifically near Nagra Darvesha in the Dholpur district. If you come by, you’ll probably see a lot of dust in the air because that is just what happens when you work with stone all day. We have blocks of rock sitting around waiting to be shaped into something else. It is a lot of manual labor, using chisels and hammers or sometimes bigger saws to get the pieces down to the right size. Dholpur is known for its stone, so we fit right in with the local landscape. The sun can get pretty hot out here on the road, but we just keep at it. We don’t have a fancy air-conditioned office to sit in. Instead, we spend our time out where the materials are. Every piece of stone is a bit different, so you have to look at the grain and see how it’s going to hold up. We aren't trying to be some big international art gallery. We are just local workers who know how to handle these materials. The address is a bit long to explain to people sometimes, but once you get near Nagra Darvesha, you can usually spot the piles of stone and the guys working. It is loud, dusty, and hard work, but it’s what we do every day to make sure the stone art gets finished and sent out.
