Out here in Dhenkanal, at Buddha Nivas on Hata Road, we run our operations for Simplex Infrastucture Limited,Kolkotta. Even though our roots are tied back to the bigger city, this office in Orissa is where we handle the local heavy lifting. It’s a quiet enough area compared to the main town, which is nice when we need to concentrate on project details. The building itself is simple and fits right into the neighborhood. We’ve been here long enough that most of the locals know who we are. Inside, it’s mostly just us sitting around desks piled with site reports and ledger books. We don't have a big reception desk or anything like that. If you come by, you’ll probably find someone drinking tea and looking over a blueprint. We work on various infrastructure tasks across the district. The weather can be tough sometimes, especially during the monsoon, but the work has to keep moving. We don't go in for big speeches or trying to look more important than we are. We are just a group of people trying to do a solid day's work. It can be tiring and the hours are often long, but that’s just part of the deal. We take things as they come and try to handle the problems as they arise without too much drama. That is just how life is here in Dhenkanal for us.
