Odisha Saree Store

Our shop, Odisha Saree Store, is out in Gohirakhala, specifically in the Bhaliabolkateni area. It is a quiet place compared to the city, but we like the pace here. We have been selling sarees to the local women for quite some time now. The shelves are packed with different colors and textures. We try to keep things that people actually want to wear for weddings or just for daily chores. The building is an older one, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it serves us well. Most of our customers are neighbors or people passing through the village on their way to work. We don't have a website or anything like that, just this physical store where you can come and touch the fabric before you buy it. It's important to feel the weight of the saree, you know. Sometimes we have tea with the people who come in, and we talk about the weather or how the crops are doing this year. It feels more like a meeting spot than just a business. We get our stock from various parts of the state, looking for things that look honest and traditional. There is a certain smell of new cloth that always fills the room when a new shipment arrives. We stay open as long as there is light, usually closing up once the sun goes down over the fields.
