Rong

Rong is located in Ward No. 2, right in the middle of Mahendra Market. We’re quite close to the United Bank of India branch here in Pinali, so there’s always a decent amount of foot traffic outside. The market gets very lively on weekends, and our little space can feel a bit cramped when more than three people walk in at once. We’ve been part of this community for a while now. The shop itself is simple, with wooden counters that have seen better days and a ceiling fan that squeaks if you put it on high. We don't really do much in the way of advertising. Most people just know we’re here because they walk past us to get to the bank or the other shops nearby. We stock a variety of things, and sometimes the inventory gets a bit mixed up, but that’s just part of life in a busy market. On rainy days, the water tends to pool a bit near the entrance, so we spend some time mopping that up. It’s not a glamorous setup, but it’s ours. We chat with the neighbors, drink tea while waiting for the morning delivery, and watch the town change slowly year by year. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for when the market festivals are on. We just focus on keeping the shelves filled and making sure people find what they need.
