V R L Logistics Pvt Ltd is situated at 353/1 on the Madras Bombay Trunk Road in Varur. If you know that road, you know it never really sleeps. There are trucks pulling in and out of our yard at all hours, and the sound of diesel engines is basically the soundtrack to our day. We spend a lot of time in the small office area checking manifests and talking to drivers who have been on the road for days. The yard can get pretty muddy when it rains, and we are constantly moving crates and pallets around to make room for the next delivery. It is a lot of physical work and keeping track of where everything is going, which can be a headache when things get busy. We have a small area where the drivers can sit for a minute and have a glass of water before they head back out toward Madras or Bombay. The furniture in our office is old and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for what we need. We don’t have much use for fancy decorations when there are boxes to be loaded and schedules to keep. Everyone here is usually wearing high-visibility vests and carrying clipboards. It is a straightforward operation where we just focus on getting the cargo from the trucks into the warehouse and back out again without losing anything along the way.
