Shree Vijaylaxmi Hardware

We've been at this spot on Manila Main Road for a good while now. Being right here in the City Market, it gets pretty loud and busy early in the morning. We are right near the Axis Bank, so people usually find us without too much trouble. Inside the shop, things are a bit cramped because we try to keep as much as we can on the shelves for our neighbors. There are tools, nuts, bolts, and all sorts of things people need for their houses. Most days, I am just behind the counter looking for a specific size of screw that someone asked for. It’s hard to keep everything perfectly tidy when people are coming in and out all day long. Sometimes we run out of things and have to wait for the next delivery truck to show up in the market traffic. My hands usually have some dust or grease on them by lunchtime. It isn’t a fancy place with air conditioning, but it gets the job done for the locals around here. People come in with broken parts and ask if we have a match. We spend a lot of time just talking to neighbors who stop by. The floor is concrete and shows its age, but that’s how hardware stores usually look. We just open the shutters, sweep the front, and start the day. It’s a simple way to make a living in this part of town.
