Savitri Women Teachers Federation

Our office for the Savitri Women Teachers Federation is located in Dharwad. We are specifically over at Plot No 110/111 on the 4th Cross in Chalukya Badavane Yalakki. This is a part of town that has a lot of residential houses and some small shops nearby. The office itself is quite large, which is helpful when we have people visiting. We have filled the rooms with old wooden desks and lots of bookshelves. It is not the most modern space, but it has everything we need to keep things running. The walls are lined with posters and notices that have been there for years. We spend a lot of time here coordinating things and writing up our reports. Dharwad can get quite dusty, so we are always wiping down the tables and equipment. There is a small area where we keep a kettle for making tea during our breaks. The 4th Cross is a relatively quiet street, though you do hear the occasional scooter or a vendor calling out. We don't have any formal reception area, so visitors just walk right into the main room. It is a very open and simple environment. We have been at this address for a long time and the building has become very familiar to us. It is a practical, no-nonsense place to work from. Most of the furniture is second-hand, but it serves its purpose.
