Rishi Jaggery

Being on the Main Road in Alnavar means we see a lot of people passing by every day. Rishi Jaggery has been part of this street for quite some time. It's number 392, right where the road gets a bit narrow. Dealing with jaggery is sticky work, but it’s what we know. The air around here often smells like molasses and heat. We open up early when the trucks start moving. It’s a simple setup, nothing like those big factories you see in the city. We have a few rooms for storage and the main area where we handle the orders. Sometimes the dust from the road gets in, so we spend a lot of time cleaning up. Working with jaggery takes patience because the weather affects how it sits. If it’s too rainy, things get difficult. But we've lived in Alnavar long enough to know how to handle the seasons. Most of the people who work here are from nearby streets. We know our neighbors and they know us. We don't spend money on fancy signs or anything like that. People just know where 392 is. It's a busy life on the Main Road, but we enjoy the pace. We just keep our heads down and make sure the jaggery is ready when people come looking for it. It's just a regular local business trying to get through the week. We drink a lot of chai and talk about the news while we wait for the next load to arrive.
