Super Market

Our shop is a simple supermarket located at Post-Jolarpet, right beside Tekraj Collage. Because we are so close to the college, we see a lot of students coming in for snacks or pens, but we also stock all the regular groceries that the local families need. It’s a basic building with rows of metal shelves that we try to keep filled up. We don’t have those fancy scanners that beep at everything; sometimes we just have to remember the prices or look them up on a list. It’s a bit old-fashioned, but it works for us here in Jolarpet. The floor is made of grey tiles that have seen better days, and the fans on the ceiling hum pretty loudly when it’s hot outside. We spend a lot of our time unpacking boxes and making sure the bread is fresh. It’s not the kind of place with a lot of decorations or music. We just focus on having what people need, whether it’s a bag of rice or a bar of soap. Sometimes the delivery trucks arrive late, and we have to wait around, but that’s just part of the routine. We know most of the people who come in by name, and we usually have a quick chat while they are paying. It’s a quiet, steady kind of business, and we are happy just being the local spot where people can grab their daily supplies.
