You’ll find J P International at 15 East Street, right on the 5th Cross. It’s a bit of a tucked-away spot, which is nice because it’s a little quieter than the main thoroughfares. Our office isn't very big, and it’s usually piled with paperwork and various samples we’ve been looking at. We do international trade, so there’s a lot of coordinating with people in different time zones, which means the phone is almost always ringing or someone is typing away at a computer. The 5th Cross can get a bit cramped if a delivery truck shows up at the same time as the neighbors are getting their supplies, but we’ve learned how to work around it. We don't have any flashy signs or a big corporate lobby. It’s just a plain door and a staircase leading up to where we work. The team here is small, and we’ve all known each other for a long time, so it’s a pretty relaxed atmosphere most of the time. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a polished image. We just care about making sure the shipments are on time and the documents are correct. Some days are more stressful than others, especially when there’s a delay at the port, but that’s just part of the business. We take a break for tea in the afternoon and then get back to it until we finish for the day and lock up the office.
