You can find us at 7/2 on Siddha Veerappa Cheety Street in Dharmapuri. It’s a busy little road and we’ve been here for quite some time now. The office is nothing fancy, just a room with a few desks and a lot of steel cupboards for all our files. We run the chit fund business from here, and it keeps us pretty busy most days of the week. The traffic outside can get a bit loud, especially in the evenings when everyone is heading home from work, but we don't mind the noise much anymore. We’ve got a small team here. Most of the time we’re just writing out receipts or checking the monthly collections in our big books. We use a lot of paper because we like having everything written down where we can see it. The floor is old stone and stays cool even when it’s roasting outside. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of big fans that move the air around. People stop by to chat as much as they do to pay their dues. We know who is getting married or who is buying a new bike because they tell us while we’re doing the paperwork. It’s a very local way of doing things. We don't have any big corporate goals, we just want to keep the books straight and the auctions running on time every month. It’s just how things work on this street.
