Creative Handicrafts & Handloom

We are set up over on Jail Road, specifically at Bankim Sarani. You’ll find us care of Gopika Ranjan Bhattacharjee. It’s more of a traditional setup than a modern store. The area around Jail Road has its own rhythm, and we’ve become a part of that over the years. We focus on handloom and various handicrafts, so our space is usually filled with the smell of cotton and the sight of many different colors. It’s not a very large operation. We have a small workspace where we keep the stock and manage the daily bits and pieces of the business. Sometimes the place looks a bit chaotic with bundles of fabric piled up in the corners, but we know where everything is. We don't really go for fancy signage or big lights. It’s just a plain room where we do our work. We spend a lot of time talking to the weavers and craftsmen who bring their items to us. It’s a bit of a walk to get here if you aren’t familiar with the side streets of Bankim Sarani, but it’s a nice, quiet spot once you arrive. We don't have a huge team, just a few family members and local help. We just try to keep things moving and make sure the handloom traditions stay alive in our own small way without making a big deal about anything or acting like a corporate office.
