Hira Trading Co.

Hira Trading Co. is located on Station Road in Dharangaon. We are actually inside the Timber Market area, specifically by the Shri Krisna Saw Mill. It’s an interesting place to work because you have the smell of fresh-cut wood from the saw mill mixed with the smell of the stone we handle. Station Road is always busy with people coming and going from the trains, so there is never a quiet moment. We’ve been here for a good while. Our setup is pretty basic, just like the other shops in the timber market. We have our materials spread out, and we spend the day talking to people who are building houses or fixing up their shops. It’s a lot of walking back and forth on the uneven ground. We aren't trying to be anything special; we just have our trading business and we stick to it. Sometimes the dust from the saw mill gets on our stuff, so we have to wipe it down quite often. The market has its own rhythm, and we are just a small part of it. When a truck comes in to deliver or pick up, it blocks the narrow lane for a bit, but everyone is used to it. We drink a lot of tea and talk to the neighbors while we wait for the next job to come through. It’s a simple life here in Dharangaon and we like it.
