Dharamshala Hydro Power Ltd is based out of Autonagar in Visakhapatnam. If you've ever been to this part of Vizag, you know it's full of workshops and industrial units. It’s a busy area near the port where everyone is always working on something big. Our office is at Door No 5-33-16, which isn't easy to find if you’re new to the layout of these streets. We spend most of our time looking at charts and managing the flow of power from various sites. Hydro power is tricky because you are always at the mercy of the water levels and the weather. Even though we are sitting in an industrial hub in Andhra Pradesh, our minds are usually on the rivers and the dams where the actual work happens. The office isn't anything special to look at, just desks, a few computers, and a lot of engineering drawings lying around. We’ve got a small crew here. Some of us have been in the energy sector for decades, so we don't get excited about much anymore. We just want the turbines to keep turning and the grid to stay steady. Sometimes we have to travel out to the remote locations, which is a nice break from the heat of Autonagar. It’s steady work, and we’ve built a decent routine over the years. We just keep our heads down and try to make sure the electricity keeps flowing.
