Satya Foods Pvt. Ltd.

We are located in the middle of Mohammadia Bazar, which is near Chandini Chowk in Dharmasala. It is a very busy spot with a lot of foot traffic and vendors shouting all day long. Our building for Satya Foods Pvt. Ltd. is tucked away behind some of the bigger shops. We handle various food items, mostly focusing on packing and local distribution. It’s a bit cramped in here because we have so many bags and crates stacked up nearly to the ceiling. No fancy signs or big storefronts are needed for us. Most people find us by asking the other shopkeepers in the bazar. My cousins and I do most of the work ourselves. We get the raw goods in bulk and then we have to sort through them to make sure everything looks okay. It’s tedious work, but it has to be done every day. We don't have air conditioning, so we keep the big doors open to catch whatever breeze we can. The noise from the market is always there, but you get used to it after a while. Corporate strategies or things like that aren't for us. We just try to sell enough to keep the lights on and pay our workers fairly. It’s a traditional way of doing business where a handshake still means a lot. We’ve been here for many years and know most of the people on this street by their first names. It's just home to us now.
