Sriibalagi Coir Fiber Industries

Sriibalagi Coir Fiber Industries is located out in Kethanahalli at No. 97. We’re in the Pala Code area, which is a bit of a drive from the main town. The air out here smells like raw coconut husks most of the time. We work with coir fiber, so the yard is usually full of brown piles waiting to be processed. It’s a messy business, and we all go home with dust in our hair. The machinery is old but we keep it running with a bit of oil and regular care. We don’t have a website or anything like that. We just do the work and sell the fiber to the people who need it for mats or ropes. It’s a local operation, employing people from the nearby villages. We start when the sun comes up and stop when it gets too dark to see clearly. The weather plays a big part in what we can do, especially when we need to dry the materials outside. There isn't a lot of talk about missions or visions here. We just want to process as much fiber as we can and make sure it’s decent quality. The office is just a small room with a desk and a few stools. We keep our records in big bound books. It’s the way we’ve always done it. Kethanahalli is a quiet place, and we’re happy to be part of the landscape.
