Sai Steel Industries

Working out of Plot No 65- B in the Pithampur Industrial Area means we are surrounded by other factories and a lot of heavy machinery. This part of Dhar district is always buzzing with activity, especially with all the trucks moving in and out. At Sai Steel Industries, the day starts quite early when the machines are turned on. It is a loud place, and there is always the smell of metal and grease in the air. We handle a lot of steel here, so the work is physically demanding. The floor is concrete and often covered with scrap bits that we have to sweep up at the end of every shift. Our workers are local people who have been doing this for a long time. They know how the machines sound when they are running right and when something needs a bit of oil. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning; it’s mostly just the open shed where the real work happens. It gets pretty hot during the summer months, but we just keep the fans going and stay hydrated. We deal with raw materials and turn them into whatever the current order requires. It is straightforward industrial work without any pretension. The trucks line up outside the gate to load up, and that’s how our days go. We’ve been at this spot in Pithampur for a while now, just doing our job and getting the metal cut and shaped.
