RIVERWAVES HANDLOOM PRIVATE LIMITED

Riverwaves Handloom Private Limited is our little business in Dhamnod. We are located at 69 Muktanand Parisar in Ward 10. There is a garden nearby, which is a nice landmark for people trying to find us. We work with handlooms, which is a bit of a dying art in some places, but we are keeping at it here. The sound of the looms is constant throughout the day. It’s a rhythmic noise that we have all grown used to. We don't have any big industrial machines; most of the work is done by hand or with simple tools. It takes a lot of time to finish a single piece of cloth, but that is just how it goes. Our space is filled with stacks of yarn and finished fabrics in different colors. It’s not the most organized place, but we know where everything is. The people working here are mostly locals from the Dhamnod area. We don't have any corporate managers or big marketing budgets. We just sell what we make to people who appreciate the work that goes into hand-loomed cloth. On hot days, we open all the windows to get a breeze from the garden side. It’s a simple life, and the work is hard on the hands sometimes, but it’s what we know how to do. We just take it one day at a time and keep the looms moving.
