If you are looking for us, we are at Shop No.46 on Singhana Road. We are right near the bus stand, so there is always a lot of foot traffic and buses rumbling past our front door. It is a noisy spot, but it is good for business because people can just pop in while they are waiting for their ride. We have tools and hardware hanging from every inch of the walls. It is a bit of a squeeze to walk through the aisles, but we know exactly where everything is. If someone asks for a specific size of bolt or a certain type of hinge, we can usually put our hands on it in a minute. We don't have a fancy computer system for the stock; we just keep an eye on the shelves and order more when they look thin. The shop has been here for years, and the wooden counter is worn smooth from people leaning on it while they talk. My brother and I run the place most days. We drink a lot of chai and talk to the regulars about the local news. It is not the kind of place where you will find everything in a box with a barcode. We sell things loose a lot of the time. It is just a local hardware store serving the people who live around Singhana Road. We stay open until the last bus leaves the stand, then we lock up and head home. It is a simple life and we like it.
