Apsara Ice Cream is situated in Ward No- 5, right by the Mela Ground in Gandhi Nagar, Manawar. It’s a very local spot. When there are big events or festivals at the Mela Ground, we get extremely busy. The Mela Ground is the heart of the town during festivals. The rest of the time, it’s a bit quieter, which is nice too because we can talk to our neighbors. We have a very simple setup here. Just a few freezers and a basic counter. I've lived in Manawar all my life, so I know most of the people who come in. They aren't just customers; they are people I see every day at the market. We don't have any corporate polish or fancy logos here. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint soon, and the chairs are a bit old, but it’s a comfortable place for people to stop. We just serve ice cream. There’s no big philosophy or mission behind it. People like sweets, and we have them. During the hot months, the line can get out the door and onto the street. We do our best to move quickly, but sometimes people have to wait a few minutes. They don't seem to mind much. We talk about the local news or the weather while they wait for their scoops. Gandhi Nagar is a good community to be part of. We open the shop in the afternoon and stay late into the night. It’s a family-run business, so you’ll see my kids or my wife helping out after they finish their school work. We just keep things moving one day at a time here in Manawar.
