Amulya Tea Packer

Our workshop is in Chhipwad, specifically in the Golwad area. We are right near the Jagannath Temple, which is a very old and famous spot around here. You can usually hear the temple bells in the morning when we are starting our work for the day. Amulya Tea Packer is what we do, we just pack tea into bags and boxes all day long. It’s a lot of manual labor, and the air always smells like tea leaves, which isn't a bad thing at all. The neighborhood is full of small alleys and other little workshops like ours. It can get pretty cramped when we have a lot of stock delivered, but we’ve learned how to stack things to make space. We don't have a fancy website or any marketing people. Most of our business comes from people who just know we are here near the temple. We spend our time sealing bags and making sure the crates are ready to go out to the markets. The Golwad area has a lot of history, and we feel like we are just a small part of it. It’s a bit dusty and the walls are a little stained from years of work, but it’s a good place to be. We just show up, do the packing, and go home when we are finished. It’s a simple way to make a living, and we’ve been doing it this way for a while now.
