Our shop is in Village-Beko, in the Bagodar area of Giridih district. We are near the Ghangri Toll Tax, so plenty of different people pass by. It’s a general store where you can find the usual things a household needs. Grains, sweets, and basic supplies line the shelves. This isn't a supermarket with bright lights and fancy aisles. It’s a simple building where we’ve worked for many years. Corporate polish and marketing plans aren't something we use. We just know what the neighbors need and try to keep it available. Days move slowly sometimes, especially in the heat, until a bus stops or a group of villagers arrives. Everything is tracked in a simple ledger rather than a computer. Dust from the road near the toll tax means we spend a lot of time wiping down the counters. The talk and gossip that happens in the shop make the days interesting. It’s a social spot as much as a business. We open early and stay until it gets dark. This practical, everyday life in Beko suits us well. No big changes are planned; we just want to keep the shelves full for the people living around here. Ghangri Toll Tax always keeps the road interesting. Beko is our home and our business.
