Kaushal Clinic

Kaushal Clinic is right there in Pachamba, specifically near the Pachamba School. You can often hear the kids playing during their recess while we are working inside. It’s a very local kind of place. Most of the people who visit us are parents from the school or folks who live just a short walk down the road. We don't have a website or any big advertisements in the paper. People just know where we are located. The clinic itself is pretty basic inside. We have a few exam rooms and a small front desk where we keep all the patient files in folders. Sometimes it takes us a minute to find the right one because we still do a lot of things by hand instead of on computers. It’s not a high-tech facility with robots or anything. It’s just a place where you can get a bandage or some medicine when you’re feeling under the weather. The waiting room has some old magazines and the ceiling fan hums a bit too loudly, but it keeps the place cool enough. We try to keep the atmosphere calm, even when it’s a busy Monday morning. Living and working in Pachamba means we see the same people at the market or the tea stall later in the evening. It’s a tight-knit community and we are just glad to be a small part of it. We just open up and stay until the work is finished.
