Our office is set up at Ramkunj in the Nawadih area. It’s actually a C/O address for Pankaj Mishra, which makes it feel a lot more like a home than a stiff business environment. We are situated near NRBMUNDA in Nayabazar, right in the heart of Dhanbad. If you know the market area, you know it's always crowded and full of life. There is always someone selling something or a truck trying to squeeze through a narrow gap. We do consulting work here, mostly sitting around the main table talking through projects. It’s a simple room with a ceiling fan that works overtime in the summer. We don't have a big sign outside, just a small one so people don't get lost looking for the house. The interior is pretty basic with some metal cupboards and a few plastic chairs for guests. We drink a lot of tea while we work, usually ordered from the stall at the corner. The neighborhood is friendly, and we often chat with the people living next door. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find people in suits. We just wear what's comfortable and get on with the consulting tasks at hand. It might seem a bit disorganized to an outsider, but we know where everything is. Dhanbad 828130 is where we’ve planted ourselves for now. We mostly keep to ourselves and focus on the day’s work. It’s just how we do things here. We have a lot of books stacked up in the corner that we mean to organize one day.
