Working out of Digwadi Kolari is a different kind of experience compared to the big city offices. It’s rugged out here, and the landscape is dominated by the operations. At Tata Steel Limited, our daily routine is tied to the shifts and the heavy machinery. You can feel the ground vibrate a bit when things are moving at full speed. The air usually has that metallic smell, and the dust is just something you learn to live with. Most of the staff here have family ties to this area, so everyone pretty much knows each other. The office building is old and sturdy, built to handle the environment. We don't have many visitors except for the contractors and the drivers. Lunch is usually a quick affair in the break room where we talk about local news or how the weather is affecting the work. It gets incredibly cold in the winter months, and the heaters in the office struggle to keep up. In the summer, it's the opposite, and the fans just move the warm air around. We spend a lot of time on safety checks and making sure the paperwork for the shipments is accurate. It’s hard work, and by the end of the day, everyone is usually ready to head home. There’s a certain rhythm to life at Digwadi Kolari that doesn’t change much from year to year. We just keep the wheels turning and stay on top of the schedule.
