Tata Hospital

Being located near the Tata Steel Plant here in Jamadoba means things are always a bit gray and dusty. You can hear the sounds of the plant in the background most days. We at Tata Hospital are pretty used to it by now. The workers from the plant come in with their families, and we’ve seen kids grow up and start working there themselves. It’s a tough environment, but people are resilient. Our building has been through a lot of seasons. The paint might be peeling in a few spots and the fans make a bit of noise, but it stays cool inside. We don't have a lot of formality here. If someone needs something, they just ask. My morning starts with a quick tea and then checking the list of who is coming in. The road outside can get pretty busy with trucks, so it’s never really quiet. We keep the water cooler filled because it gets incredibly hot during the summer months. It's a community where everyone understands the grind of industrial life. We aren't trying to be the most modern place in the world, just a place that works. People know where we are, right near the plant gates. We just keep the lights on and stay ready for whatever comes through the door. It’s just how things are done here in this part of town and we wouldn't have it any other way.
