Sunrise Food Store

Sunrise Food Store is out in the Ali Nagar area of Wassepur, which sits along the Bhuli Road in Dhanbad. Wassepur might be a famous name to some people, but for those of us living here, it is just home and the place where we go to work every morning. We focus mostly on food items, so you will find plenty of snacks, biscuits, and different types of grains and spices on our shelves. The shop is located on a pretty dusty road and there are always trucks and rickshaws rumbling past, which makes a lot of noise throughout the day. We have some simple metal racks inside where we keep things like bread and eggs. It’s not a very large shop, so we have to be careful about how we stack the crates of cold drinks so they don’t get in the way of people walking in. The floor is just plain concrete and has a few cracks in it from over the years. Most of our customers are people who live right here in the neighborhood. They come in for things they need for their dinner or if they suddenly have guests and need some extra tea leaves or sugar. Sometimes we have a laugh with the regulars about the price of onions or how hot the weather is. We just try to keep enough stock so people don’t have to travel far for their basic food needs.
